My mind is boggling at this whole concept. (Not heard the track yet.) Has it been recorded for a movie soundtrack or something?
Curiously: - only two days ago I was thinking "high time we had some new Aly & AJ, no?" - only yesterday I got to Dave Marsh's write up of the Grand Funk original in The Heart of Rock & Soul
Is on Randy Jackson's Music Club, Vol. 1, released today. (Randy Jackson is a Grammy Award-winning rock bassist, singer, record producer, and Emmy Award-nominated television and radio personality.)
iTunes and Wal-Mart versions only, apparently (uh oh, here we go again)
Have now heard the song. It's great. (I've never heard the original - and don't really want to now). Seriously tempted to submit this for the podcast. A&A's parents must have the whitest record collection ever!
Oh, you should hear the original; it's really good. It was produced by Todd Rundgren right at the time he was also producing the first New York Dolls album. And the thing is, it is about GROUPIES, so it's interesting to see how A&A try to half-acknowledge and half-sidestep this fact.
Holy crap!
