On his own lj, Lex asked about Tumblr and Twitter, wanted to be persuaded or dissuaded. I don't have a Tumblr blog and I've been ignoring Twitter, and I spend too much time on the Internet as is, but, instead of asking about a particular format or application, I'll just ask:

(1) Where does one go for ORGAFUN these days?

(2) Where does one go for ideas and smart arguments?

(3) Where does one go for people taking stock of themselves and their world?

By the way, the blogs I visit every day are by Paul Krugman and Brad Delong, both economists, both articulate, both wrestling with the emergency issue of the moment.

Just posted this on a thread of Lex's, but it obviously belongs here too:

My problem as I said to you last month is that I find it much easier to post on comment threads than on my own lj.ExpandAnd I did this strange thing on my MySpace )

But the point is that I've never been able to get my lj to act as an actual blog, no matter my resolution to do soExpandSo it's never become the kind of attention center that Why Music Sucks was )

Whereas what I need to do is to use my lj for quick thoughts and links as well as for what I'm using it for now, and in essence make some of my responses their own new lj posts rather than being posts on other people's threadsExpandw/ Krugman and Delong as my models? )

In any event, I think you need to accept the lack of basic responseExpandcourage to change the things I can )

Also, I have no idea how "RSS" works; on my lj I get feeds to Kat's Tumblr and one of Tom's Tumblrs because they told me how to do it; I used to get feeds to Freaky Trigger except those stopped when it ran into technical stuff in late February. I'd like to get feeds to Dave's Tumblr and Tom's other Tumblr if they'd tell me how (assuming that they know how; if not, they should ask Kat, right?).

Fairly nondescript week that manages to run the table. Meanwhile, "Stanky Legg" breaks into the Top 50, and the U2 album displaces Taylor, w/ Kelly waiting in the wings.
