I love love love Love And Theft's "Runaway," a sweet California harmonied breeze of a thing that's going to be one of my country singles of the year. It's nothing special, sort of subdued Fleetwood Mac, "Go Your Own Way" lite, just a trio of nice boys and nice "oo oo oo"s and a nice lift from the harmonies and a rhythm that drives you along without spurting a lot of smoke.

Love and Theft is an American country music group formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 2006. It is composed of Brian Bandas (lead vocals, guitar), Stephen Barker Liles (lead vocals, guitar), and Eric Gunderson (lead vocals, guitar). The group made its debut with a live EP titled "Live in Savannah" recorded while on tour with Taylor Swift. Stephen Barker Liles is the subject of the song "Hey Stephen" which appears on the Taylor Swift CD Fearless.

She seems more country than most, to be honest. I think the reason I can't "get" her is probably that she's just not miserable enough; I s'pose Bright Eyes is quite country really and I've always liked him, against general logic.

I like the Shooter Jennings, less the McBride. I think I'm generally more inclined towards country when it sounds like Southern Rock (whatever that is, etc.) and less when it sounds like, erm, country.

I've had the "can't get into country" thing too, but oddly when I finally listened to Taylor, I thought: hang on, this isn't too different from any other guitary female singer songwriter.

Stephen Barker Liles is not as hot as Taylor makes him seem in the song.
