How does Hyoyeon keep from being blinded by her own hair? I'm not much of a song-and-dance man, so I never realized what an issue this must be for long-haired performers and their choreographers and hairstylists, especially when the dances don't allow for a lot of improvised hand movements.
h/t arbitrary_greay, as usual.
(Also note hat mishap at 0:22.)
Although it's not quite the same topic, I want to say that I myself have seen, live and in person, Iggy falling off the stage (though it was a different Iggy).

To adore Hyoyeon and her hair forever

Date: 2014-08-31 04:45 pm (UTC)There are a few approaches to the problem:
1) Choreography that doesn't get so wild that hair starts falling in the way
2) Choreography loose enough that hand movements can be improvised. This seems to be the main route, as dancers at a high enough level can always go off of the swagger of the rest of their body to spare a hand. (Especially since choreo will tend to get modified anyways for one hand to hold a microphone)
3) Style hair to hold it back.
Hah, that Hyohunnies vow makes me amused, considering one of the staples of the snsd_ffa corner was lamenting over Hyo's hair choices since her notorious fringe in 2010.
Note how carefully Boa dances and poses to keep her hair out of the way, and how it's styled to make things easier, despite still being relatively let down and free.
