What do you guys think of Sarah Buxton? Country cutie pie with a rough'n'sweet voice, wrote Keith Urban's "Stupid Boy" which she does her own very good version of, also "That Kind Of Day," quirky country about what it's like to have a day where everything goes wrong in little ways, but she makes it sound fun, was praised and slammed in Jukebox but I'm not sure if she was noticed anywhere else. Here's her MySpace, with "Stupid Boy," "That Kind Of Day," and two of the three other songs on her EP, also these insights:

"I suggest EVERYONE sit down and try to write a quick and honest assessment of their life. Can you say 'therapy'?"

"I never had a problem making friends, but I did spend a lot of time feeling like I didn't fit in. I wasn't cute and I didn't like P.E. class..."

(Calling Brie Larson.)

"Stevie Nicks' lyrics were like poetry, so I started to write poetry of my own... full of angst and confusion, mainly related to my poor mother."

From "That Kind Of Day," inspirational verse for compulsive debtors and spenders everywhere: "When times are tough it's time to shop/And your credit card will buy a lot/What's another bill to pay/When it's that kind of day?"

Musically, "Stupid Boy" is head and shoulders above the rest, which are pretty good. Keith Urban's version does have extra impact, simply because he, being a boy, provides that sudden frisson when you realize that Keith as narrator is directing the song at himself, implying that he himself is the stupid, critical, spirit-destroying boy.
