Justin Bieber ft. Usher "Somebody To Love": The right light voice with a right purty melody. When Usher enters, his workaday emoting and melisma seem like oversinging, but the song glides steadily along and Justin brings it back to lightness, no worries. TICK.
Jaron and the Long Road To Love "Pray For You": Silly and obvious country send-up, sung with perfect fake sincerity that delivers the venom that the lyrics cheerfully promise. TICK.
Shakira ft. Freshlyground "Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)": All brightness and cheer, Shakira's toned-down warbles and vibrato adding just a tiny shiver. So why isn't there a memorable tune? NO TICK.
