koganbotI have an opinion on Charice's "Pyramid," but you're not going to see it this week since the track is only at 52. In other chart news, T.I.'s "I'm Back" and Kenny Chesney's "Ain't Back Yet" are back-to-back at 61 and 62.
Katy Perry ft. Snoop Dogg "California Gurls": Katy goes sweet and light, disco reflections sparkling in the surf, utterly no attempt to be characteristically raw and Katy. More like Gwen Stefani referencing "Best Of My Love" or some such. Tune probably isn't distinctive enough to make this song a classic, but I I kind of love it anyway; glad that Luke is veering dance again and pulling back from last year's candy avalanche. TICK.
Glee Cast "Jessie's Girl": Cory's serviceable with his rough throat, and the song is good, but that's probably a moot point. Basic karaoke. NO TICK.
Alicia Keys "Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready)": Eerie the way she acts so vulnerable in the video but is only willing to let the vulnerability into her voice in little flickers. Her words say she's suspended in the air; she sounds like she's almost willing to float, but won't quite let go of the tether. A TICK, but....
