Year In America June 5, 2008

Decided to start aping the poptimists' Year In Pop thing by bringing it to America, to keep myself aware, maybe to stimulate my imagination. This is something that skillextric'd probably do much better, so if he and you would care to jump in and comment, that would make me happy.

The way it works is anything new to the Billboard Top 40, I write up and rate. TICK equals good, NONTICK equals not so good.

No Air, Lots Of Sugar

Finally listening to the Jordin Sparks alb, which magically snuck into my computer at some undetermined time in the last seven months, apparently without my knowing it.

This is definitely a case of the whole dragging down the parts, or in this instance pickling everything in giant vats of sugar, so after a while I almost forget that there are quite a few good songs here. Her lungs are whompers, I don't understand why so much of this was brought down to the same sweet sorrow, track after track. But good songs there are, such as these:
