Of course I know almost nothing about this (only knew the song was AKB because someone said so in the YouTube comments); the only Hello! Project project I've seen or heard is Morning Musume, and I haven't gotten to the point of taking in their outfits. My vague impression is that Morning Musume are even more hyperaggressive in their pop sound than AKB48 are (once again, my not-yet-thought-through phrase "extreme pop" may be of use here).

Someday this sort of J-pop will hit me and everything else will sound pale and placid in comparison.
