That's got to be it... a suitable stage name ready-made from the Phillipines. If you're a Korean-American called Daniel Lee and go to Korea they'll call you Daniel Lee, and Sandara is, I suppose, a semi-foreigner having spent so much time in the Phillipines. Neither three-syllable nor one-syllable given names are that common in Korea, so Bom's name is also pretty catchy.
Listed on Naver as Bak Sandara, but her albums are labeled Sandara Bak, so I'm assuming it's her/her agency's personal choice. Korean news articles seem to put family name first but there are some interviews with the family name last.
