In #7 above and in yesterday's response I'm screwing up the word "synthesis" terribly; I'm using it to apply to what concepts do for intuitions, whereas I think that Kant would reserve the word for what predicates add to concepts. Does Kant have a word for what concepts do for intuitions, given that Kant thinks we don't know intuitions directly but only mediated by concepts? (If that is what he thinks.)
