The truth will come by asking for it
Feb. 10th, 2011 04:12 pmI'm linking the subtitled video of Wael Ghonim's TV interview last Monday; Ghonim was the creator of the We Are All Khaled Said Facebook page that helped instigate the revolt in Egypt, was taken prisoner and held blindfolded for days by Egyptian authorities.

"I was just using my keyboard. Which was the easiest thing to do. You just write like this and your fingers don't even hurt."
"We now have a semi-mechanism to murder dignity in Egyptians. When you take away someone's dignity, when you shout at him and slander him because you are stronger than him, you murder him. You take away his dignity and turn him into a corpse. He would walk in the street with no value. Ready to steal. But when you give him his dignity, let him raise his head and say: I am Egyptian. I am proud to be Egyptian. I do not steal because I am Egyptian. I do not betray my country because I am Egyptian."
Though my actual favorite quote is:
"I had plenty of vacation time and they said okay." [They being Google, his employer; according to the NY Times, Ghonim oversees marketing efforts for Google in the Middle East.]
