Jessica, Rihanna, Ashley
Jun. 3rd, 2008 03:45 pmJessica Simpson "Come On Over": Bright and blaring pop country. Totally assured, no new ground (unlike "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'"), will cheer me when I hear it, I don't know how much I'll seek it.
Rihanna "Disturbia": About as pop as she can be, sugar disco, vocoder glaze, except as usual her voice is aching and bleeding. I find this irresistible.
Ashley Tisdale "Shadows Of The Night": Was real excited for the first few moments, thumping sweet glamstomp from the days of Runaways and Suzi Quatro. But it pulls its punches, the power chords just don't power through, the verse is meh. And Tisdale's wrong for it anyway.
