Non UK-residents may not be aware that this song gets played on BBC television every Saturday around 5pm, over the football results. MES is a big football fan and one day he wandered into the studio:

I've actually seen this (wandered into YouTube, saw the title, and clicked: I do think he reads his own lyrics better). Didn't know that the Fall were a TV theme song, however. The Fall and ilk never became pop in the U.S. (unless you include Def Leppard and Depeche Mode in the ilk).
