In other news, I was with several friends at St. Mark's Coffeehouse last Friday night, one of whom was sure that she was the only one of us who didn't vote for Obama; so she asked the rest of us whom we'd voted for. It turned out that only two of us voted for Obama. She'd voted for Bob Barr, there was a Mexican guy there who wasn't eligible to vote in the U.S., there was a guy who voted for Ralph Nader, and a woman who wrote in "Minnie Mouse." The woman who voted for Barr questioned her as to why she would go all the way to the polls to waste her vote. But she obviously didn't consider it a waste.
The rest of the discussion was about the media's unwillingness to report on Minnie Mouse's candidacy. The woman who'd written Minnie's name in thought that Minnie's propensity to swear might have played a role in the media blackout.
