Top 6 Singles, 2010 (plus New Year's resolution)

The Top Six Singles So Far In 2010

I don't know what the status of "Night & Day" is, actually. If it's simply a leak by the artist it's a single; if it's also a future album cut it or if it's an unauthorized leak it isn't a single, unless it starts getting the attention due a successful single, in which case it is a single.

1. Lloyd "Night & Day" [single?]
2. I Blåme Coco ft. Robyn "Caesar"
3. Sade "Soldier Of Love"
4. Selena Gomez & the Scene "Naturally"
5. Nicki Minaj "Saxon" [single?]
6. Martina McBride "Wrong Baby Wrong Baby Wrong"

Resolution for the New Year: to write "ft." for "featuring" rather than to write "f."

"Night & Day" has been floating around for at least half a year. Not sure what Lloyd's status generally is, if he's giving away free EPs that include songs billed as proper singles.

"Saxon" was put up on the Young Money website itself IIRC, I doubt it'll re-emerge given that it's basically a Rihanna demo. Though maybe Nicki will rework it for her album?

Ugh @ that extraneous diacritical mark on Sting's daughter's stupid stage name. I hate her already.

It's like someone looked inside my brain and saw the part that houses all the things I like to see in music videos, and said, "Yeah, we'll do that."

I have no idea why I'm so excited about Coco finally happening -- the couple of tracks I have, I don't listen to very often, and there's nothing in her lyrics or music that grabs me. I think I like what she could be more than what she is. She's like my artsy hipster Pixie Lott.

I've decided that I may count Coati Mundi's "Bundas Bom" as a 2010 single, if I still like it as much a year from now (seeing how it came out in late-ish 2009, and all, and just missed my Top 10 this year, which it possibly shouldn't have.)
