In Citizen Kane there's a scene where we hear a man pounding on a door and calling a woman's name, and we hear her heavy, woozy breathing, and see a bottle of pills, and put this together from what we've seen earlier in the movie to know with one hundred percent certainty that the character has attempted suicide. Whereas in real life this would be a matter for further research.
