Jewelry Box would hands-down be my album of the year except I'm torn whether to count what's fundamentally a hits package, and I probably won't listen to it much, since I generally like the Korean versions more than the Japanese — though I'm not sure if that's just habit on my part, preferring what I'm familiar with. I do prefer "Hue," — on the just-released Day By Day EP — to the Japanese version ("T-aratic Magic Muse") on Jewelry Box, even though I heard the latter first and I suspect the song was written specifically for the Japanese market. Maybe that counts as some kind of natural experiment, though one data point is hardly conclusive.
