Re: LPG

Unfortunately, you have to call me Mr. Ignorant when it comes to LPG, and to trot in general. And I don't speak Korean.

You can find the entirety of what I've ever written about LPG here, here, and here. No idea what any of their lyrics are, except perhaps that "Riverside" is about a riverside. Or maybe not. The Special seems to have been a compilation of songs recorded over the previous five years. Seven of the songs were already on the LP Lucky Girl. My favorite song of theirs, "찔레꽃," which Amazon calls "Wild Rose" (Google Translate gives us "Thistle Flowers"), is a cover of a song that seems to date back at least to the 1940s (at least that's what this recent clip by Kang Min-ju seems to claim). Another favorite, "첫차" ("The First Train"), was also covered by Super Junior T, and I've found a YouTube version from back in the '80s. Obviously, LPG add modern touches, sometimes incorporating Eurodance and rap, and of course "Anger" is their version of Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP's "No Speak Americano."

I don't know how many — if any — of their songs are originals.

They seem to have more flair and a lighter touch than other recent pop-trot groups I've heard, though I've hardly heard a lot.
