Glass clink and exhaustion

Still compiling my Top 100, and RaNia's "Masquerade" keeps crawling higher: chintzy little dance track, sounds a bit wasted, mid-'80s late-night glass clink and exhaustion, ghetto cuties not concealing the wear 'round the edges, and no one bothering with Autotune. I was disappointed by the rhythm sculpture Teddy Riley did for SNSD, and was outright bored by the one with Jay Park; on this track he seems to reach back deeper, the disco sound adapted for immigrant northern New Jersey. (Yes, I know the group is actually from Seoul, not Union City; I'm just trying to wave my hand at a feeling.)

YouTube comment: "I would kill for those boots... even though i would kill myself trying to walk in them."

Internet Alert

Internet Alert: Some people on the Web are posting about music.

(My post — my initial post, that is — will be at 12 noon Mountain Time on Wednesday January 4. Site also features [livejournal.com profile] katstevens.)

[At the moment, who posted what is not made clear unless you're reading it on your Tumblr dashboard, but Dave'll fix that soon, he says, or at least add signatures.]
